Today marked another big milestone for us here at Inq: the launch of our second product SO.HO, our social launcher. If you’re always on Facebook, or constantly checking Twitter, then SO.HO was designed for you. SO.HO allows you to put your favourite social networks on the homescreen of your Android mobile so that you can check what’s happening on multiple social networks without diving in and out of apps.
We made SO.HO because we believe that the way people are using their social networks has changed as smartphone usage has grown. Gone are the days when you logged in to Facebook once a day over lunch; now Facebook and Twitter are always in your pocket and you don’t need to log-in to know what’s going on, your phone can push messages to you to tell you when it’s worth checking in. We’re now checking Facebook on the bus, reading tweets whilst waiting in line and dipping in and out of social networks throughout the day. SO.HO is designed with this in mind; instead of asking you to jump in and out of apps, we’ve put Facebook and Twitter on your homescreen so that all you have to do is unlock your phone to see what’s going on or to interact.
Currently you can log into Facebook or Twitter on SO.HO. Our plan is to add a whole load of other networks so that we can cater for people’s social world is bigger than Facebook or Twitter. You can download the BETA free from Google Play now. Try it out and let us know what you think.
We’ll leave the final words on our release of SO.HO to Inq CEO, Ken Johnstone: “We’re really excited about SO.HO and the easy access it gives you to a full screen Facebook and Twitter experience, pulling you directly into your social world as soon as you unlock your phone. And as we add other social networks over the next few months SO.HO will make it even easier to access and control the things you love directly from your homescreen”.
